The Dandelion: NYC's French White Tip
The Dandelion stem: Essie's Pretty Edgy

Day 31: Blue Skies

when I started painting my nails I wanted something cheery to brighten up the rainy 40 degree day I was having. They ended up looking like the background of Mario the video game... I might revisit this again later!

Worn: December 27, 2011
Base: Sally Hanson's Pacific Blue
Clouds: NYC's French White Tip
Grass: Essie's Pretty Edgy

nail care

To keep my nail fresh and healthy I use Orly's Top 2 Bottom. Its great and dries quick!

Another thing I invested in is DeMert's Nail enamel Dryer. It cuts my polish time in half. The only down side is it smells like a salon and its super cold. Its about $8 a can and is totally worth it for the busy girl on the go.

Day 30: Let it snow!

In honor of Christmas I did snowflakes! I hope every had a merry Christmas.

Worn: December 26, 2011

Base: NYC's Skin Tight Demin Creme
Design: NYC's French Tip White

I had to take a break.

I made a foolish mistake. No basecoat. I never needed one before.... befre I wasn't painting my nails everyday. Lesson learned and I'm back!

Day 12: Purple Party

top coat- ORLY's gold glitter

Day: 11 Fail

Well I hate the look I tried but with 365 looks a few were going to be sour. I used OPI's Make a change as a base and the sally hansen's crackle overcoat in ink splatter. I think the purple, which on its own is a great color was much to dark for the black. Oh well! Next time.

Day 10: TLU Crackle

I did it, I broke down I got Sally Hansen's Crackle Overcoat in Ink Splatter! It is SO COOL! I'm going to get it in other colors soon I just know it. I out it over the Yelloe Hook Up from yesterday to create a TLU vibe.

Day 9: Golden Ticket

I found a gorgeous yellow in the San Francisco Airport. It's Orly's Hook up, a yellow with pearl finish. Its time to get into the TLU state of mind.

Day 8: Diva Red

I used NYC's Big Apple Red Creme as a base with a top coat french cut of Sally Hansen's Red Carpet. You can't really tell in this photo but the red carpet has a beautiful sparkle to it that reminds me of Dorothy's red slippers.

Day 7: Penny for Your Thoughts

So I used a charlotte russe nail polish but it has no name! So I'm going to call it copper penny. I reminds me of the fall when the leaves change... so like November in Texas. :)

Day 6: Pin Up Red

I used NYC's Big Apple Red Creme, two coats and go. Its a quick color pop that is great for a night out. I was in a rush so nothing to fancy.

Day 5: Sweet Sailing

I'm of to Alaska so I used Sally Hansen's Pacific Blue . See y'all when I get back!

Day 4: Pastel Patterns

I used NYC's True Love and Sally Hansen's Mint Sorbet. I think Patterns aren't my thing...

Day 3: You Look So Good in Blue

So I'm trying to get good at doing designs so I'm going to start with lines. From the base its NYC's Skin Tight Denim Creme, then Sally Hansen's Pacific Blu and lastly with ally Hansen's Mint Sorbet.

Day 2: Newspaper Print

So I was exploring google looking for cute ideas and I found this newspaper nail look that I just loved. It screams Communications/ English major.

You need:
a light colored base polish
a news paper clipping
vodka or rubbing alcohol
clear top coat polish

I used NYC French White tip as my nail color (2 coats). After about 30 minutes of dry time I dipped my nails in vodka (I'm sure rubbing alcohol would work to but I do not have any) and pressed a cutting from a stranded newspaper onto my nail then peeled it off quickly. It should leave the ink from the print on your nail. Finish off with clear polish, I used Sally Hansen's Invisible or else the ink will rub off on your clothes.

And Ta Da! Day 2 is complete and badass.
xoxo

Day 1: Watermelon Fun

I wanted a fun summer look that reminds me of my high school hometown, McDade with its famous (at least to us) Watermelon Festival ! I used NYC's Big Apple Red Creme as a base with a top coat of Sally Hansen's Red Carpet. The watermelon rind is Sally Hansen's Emerald City and the seed's are Sally Hansen's Black Out.

365 Days of Color

The quickest way to brighten up any girls day. Its amazing how a relaxing 20 minutes can bring a pop of color and happiness to your life. I'm taking the next year to paint my nails different, everyday. Cheers!
